Thrive CE Academy Trust, a well-established multi-academy trust deeply rooted in Christian values. They contacted Hive with a comprehensive rebranding initiative. The Trust eagerly sought to convey its mission and commitment to nurturing growth and development among its students and staff. Hive was thrilled to take on this project. It encompassed creating a new brand identity, logo, stationery, and templates for Thrive CE Academy Trust.

Client’s Vision for the Multi-Academy Trust Branding

Thrive CE Academy Trust found inspiration in the Parable of the Mustard Seed. A story of small beginnings leading to significant growth. Thrive wanted their new brand to symbolise their commitment to providing fertile ground for personal and educational growth and the embodiment of Christian values. This parable served as the foundation for the new name – Thrive. Furthermore, signifying the trust’s dedication to fostering development.

Design Elements

Logo Design: Hive started the rebranding journey with the creation of a new logo. The logo is a visual representation of the Parable of the Mustard Seed. It portrays a small seed growing into a thriving tree. This image beautifully reflects the continuous growth and development of the Trust, its schools, staff and students. The logo vividly depicts the growth journey of pupils, acquiring the skills and knowledge needed to flourish.

Birds Symbolism: In the logo, birds are perched in the branches of the tree. These birds symbolise the individual schools within the Trust. Therefore conveying a sense of belonging and protection, as they find shelter within the trust’s values and teachings. The variety of colours among the birds signifies the uniqueness of each school within the trust.

Bird in Flight: While the trust remains a steadfast shelter and home for its schools, one bird is shown in flight. This represents “becoming” and innovation. As schools are encouraged to explore new opportunities and share their findings with the trust’s community. The bird in flight captures the spirit of growth, evolution and continuous improvement.

Core Values Integration: Thrive CE Academy Trust’s core values – “Belonging, Believing, Becoming” – are seamlessly incorporated into the new logo. These values reinforce the parable’s key messages. Additionally they serve as guiding principles for the entire family of schools under the trust. The new logo embodies these values, and as a result, makes them an integral part of the brand identity.

Brand Application

Hive expanded the rebranding to various applications, including:

Stationery: The new branded stationery carries the new multi-academy trust branding. Symbolising growth and unity, while the core values remain at the forefront of every communication.

Word Templates: The word templates reflect the trust’s commitment to excellence and growth. This ensures that all official documents adhere to the newly established brand identity.

PowerPoint Templates: These templates enable the trust to create impactful and consistent presentations. As a result, they can convey their mission and vision effectively.

Website: The branding was also used on the design and build for Thrive’s new website. This included a bespoke animation of the new logo which adds an impactful touch to the design.

Results

The rebranding of Thrive CE Academy Trust has been a resounding success. Furthermore, the new brand identity and logo have effectively communicated the trust’s mission and values. In addition, the logo’s imagery of the mustard seed growing into a flourishing tree resonates with staff, students, and stakeholders, emphasising the journey of growth and development.

Furthermore the birds in the logo symbolise the unity and unique strengths of each school within the trust. While the bird in flight represents the trust’s encouragement of innovation and growth. The core values “Belonging, Believing, Becoming” are now deeply ingrained in the trust’s visual identity and messaging.

The rebranding has not only refreshed the trust’s image. It’s also reinvigorated its commitment to fostering growth, learning, and development. Hive successfully transformed Thrive CE Academy Trust’s brand into one that vividly represents its mission and values. As a result, the trust now stands out as an institution dedicated to helping individuals and schools thrive and flourish.
